    Clubs & Activities

Student Leadership opportunities are a very important part of our school. Many students volunteer their time during the day in regular activities such as daily student secretary and daily lunchroom assistance. One highlight each year has been the Coronation School Variety Show. Students have the opportunity to showcase and present in front of an audience of peers!

Extra-Curricular activities are held at lunch recess. These are led by volunteer teachers, student teachers and/or student leadership teams.  Our students are empowered to present written proposals to run an extracurricular activity.  They are very excited to develop the goals and lead students through their club!

We have also implemented extra-curricular opportunities where students propose ideas to support global citizenship.

Coronation School is proud to be an IB World School serving approximately 245 students!  We offer the highest quality of education for your child in a technology rich environment capitalizing on inquiry based instruction.  After exploring our website, we trust that you will also understand why so many families choose our school.

Coronation School is an authorized IB Primary Years school where our school programming focuses on literacy skills, developing international mindedness and global awareness. The IB learner profiles and IB attitudes at our school are demonstrated every single day by every single student!

We have strong parental support and provide excellent opportunities for your child to explore themselves and the world around us.

Due to its IB World School accreditation, we receive and accept registrations from families all across Edmonton, if space allows. Families in North Glenora and McQueen have guaranteed admittance. Those from other communities are encouraged to apply early.  For more information, contact our school at 780-455-2008 or visit us at our annual open house.

The school begins September 4th at 8:35 am.

Principal's Message

Welcome to Coronation School! We are committed to ensuring all students learn at high levels.  We work together in partnership to create a dynamic learning community through the support and talents of the Coronation students, staff, and families.

We value our partnership with our parent community and recognize that what really supports the success of our students is the strong commitment to communication between home and school.  We believe in the importance of maintaining a respectful learning environment where a positive, effective working relationship is established.

We are extremely excited to continue enhancing our focus on the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (IBPYP) that is designed to emphasize inquiry and development of the whole person.   Our goal is to foster attributes of caring and be empathetic citizens in our classes, in our community, and expanding to a global context.

As a school, we use SchoolZone as our primary mode of communication and we encourage our parents to check SchoolZone daily to receive timely information.

At Coronation, we have a commitment to ensure all students have a sense of belonging, and through high quality learning opportunities are engaged, active, and involved students.  We strive to inquire, inspire and make an impact!

We look forward to an exciting and rewarding school year!

Yours in Partnership,

Letitia Carter
